Robinson Crusoe – Grade VI

Robinson Crusoe novel by the English writer Daniel Defoe.

The book is an imagined autobiography of the title character — an Englishman who survived a shipwreck and was left to live for 28 years on a deserted tropical island near Venezuela, encountering natives, captives and rebels, before finally being rescued.

The story is believed to be inspired by a true experience of Scottish sailor Alexander Selkirk who lived for more than four years on a tropical island near Chile.

The publication is required reading for the sixth grade.
