THE SERDAR

Grigor Prlichev - the spiritual vertical of the Macedonian 19th century is the most outstanding figure who also marks Macedonian poetic creativity in the 19th century and Macedonian cultural continuity. He was a teacher, orator, preacher who worked in the spirit of classicism, enlightenment and romanticism.

For the poem Serdarot in 1860, he won the prize at the great Athenian competition for the best poem in the Greek language, and critics call it the Second Homer.
